One Decision Down, Only 999,999 To Go

This came home with us on Saturday.

I went shopping with a friend a few weeks ago and just had to peek at the strollers. I went back to the store with my mom and it got her seal of approval, made another trip back with Darin he loved it too. Practicalitly (and some pretty swanky style) won out and the Uppababy found it's way into our lives. The company is super enviro friendly and the lining of this is organic cotton. I love the little basinet it comes with and the whole thing is built to last through a few kiddos. All points to help me feel a whole lot better about the hefty price tag.

We won't have a little one to fill this beautiful stroller for quite some time but I feel a whole lot better having checked at least one item off that mile long list.

I wonder it the kitties would like a trial walk ;)

2009?

Wow, has a month really gone by?? I never did say I would be good at this blogging thing. Maybe because there is no added pressure for lack of people that know this site exists (there is one person, and she is sneaky, and pretty forgiving for the lack of content:)

Christmas has come and gone and it was wonderful. Working in reatail during the holidays gives you a profound appreciation for the quiet time spent with family and friends. Christmas day was so low key and absolutely perfect (aside from the new motion sickness and needing to drive a total of 3 hours that day!) I was spolied with a new toy and the sweetest baby album kit (the toy will come in handy filling in the kit!)

Boxing day it was back to the grind, but only for a day then we got to enjoy some more family time (not quite as low key since you are adding about 30 people to the mix, but still great) I was able to tell my grandparents they were going to be great-grandparents and the baby was spoiled with some gifts of her own. (ok, let me clarify...we have no idea what the sex of this baby is and have no intentions of finding out. "She" is what comes out of our mouths most often and I realize there will be some pretty big appologies to the little man if she is a he but it is what it is. For now.)

I have just been so thankful for everyone and everything that is in our lives and am so excited for what is to come this year.

I haven't uploaded any pictures in a looong time...will get on that soon!

Waiting to Exhale

Since the day that we got our news I have been fully blissed out for about 24 hours. It is the strangest feeling in the world that not many will understand but the happiness just didn't stick around long before the doubts and worry set in. Doubts that the test wasn't actually positive in the first place, worry that it was, but since then something has gone horribly wrong (been there, done that!) I was having a chat with a good friend, trying to explain the wierdness and guilt surrounding my feelings (I mean, I'm supposed to be the happiest I have ever been, right?) and I do believe she said it best..."welcome to the rest of your life. There is always going to be something to worry about, to feel anxious about...it's a normal part of being a mom." Did it ever make me feel good to have normal and me used in the same sentence. Nothing has felt normal in a looong time!

We have been for our first ultra sound and got to see the most beautiful little blob I have ever seen. Some breath has snuck out and a whole lot of happiness replaced it on the inside. It will be the sound of this little ones cry that will let the flood gates open.

(apparently my photos are corrupt! You'll just have to wait a little longer to see the dreidle!)

Words cannot describe!

This feeling of complete elation will not go away. The perma-smile, the complete giddiness, the incessant need to make lists, dozens of lists! I suspect I'll be feeling this way for 9 months or so! ;)

I Think I'm in Love

I found this gem on Etsy while searching for Brithday and Christmas ideas for Darin. Think it will be an early Merry, Merry for me!

Home Sweet Home

We're in!! Thanks so much for the help from our families and friends who came up to get us in here!

We have had the house for a little over a month now and have done a fair bit of work. I swore I would take before and after pics and had grand plans for a mini book to capture every step of the way but all was shot to hell when I didn't get the picture of us with the 'sold' sign. Oh, well!

This is all I have...the agents pictures. The pictures that made me NOT want to buy this house...enjoy!
